Details

The GE Healthcare BiliSoft LED Phototherapy System delivers phototherapy for effective treatment of neonatal jaundice also known as hyperbilirubinemia, a condition when the infant has too much bilirubin in the blood causing jaundice and other conditions. Jaundice is treated by placing the infant under fluorescent lights with a specific light wavelength to break down the bilirubin. What sets the BiliSoft Phototherapy System from other products on the market is the technology is built into a pad allowing the infant to be swaddled for direct light contact rather than lying in an incubator with an overhead lamp. The pad also provides comfort since it allows the infant to be held during treatment for important infant-parent bonding.

The Bilisoft LED Phototherapy System is extremely quiet during operation to not disturb the infant and encourage sleep and growth during treatment. The BiliSoft's blue LED light intensity and spectrum meets or exceeds the recommendations of the American Academy of Pediatrics. It's also more effective over other methods because distance is eliminated with direct contact with the infant's skin. This therapy can be incorporated with overhead lights for dual therapy when infant needs intensive phototherapy treatment.
